Teaching priests’ the consequences of pedophilia caused upon victims could help with the limitations Bishops have in educating predophiles that their actions are wrong. Bishops limit their influence upon pedophile priests based on their subjective beliefs/assessment of what the pedophile will do in the future if the pedophile were taught by the bishop that pedophilia actions they perform is bad. A priest having reduced culpability & invincible ignorance could be the excuse Bishops give themselves to clear their own conscience if they choose NOT to tell the pedophile that it is wrong because it causes suicide of victims. Police, teachers and lay members of society have to teach the priests of the grave consequence of children committing suicide due to their abuse from the past. Because of the Bishops’ fear that the soul of the priest he is in charge of will go to hell by deliberately continuing the pedophilic action with full knowledge of its grave consequence, namely the suicide of victims, Bishops may not have the option to do catechesis/teaching themselves if they truly believe the pedophile will still formally act against this correction. Pope Francis was right in saying that pedophilia within the Church is caused by lack of catechesis/teaching, but many interpret his ambiguous comments as him referring to laymembers of the church when in fact he most likely is referring to the lack of teaching the pedophile gets with regards to the hierarchy keeping him in invincible ignorance of the knowledge that his actions will cause suicide of his child victims

Priest admits culpable/vincible ignorance

Policies that govern society and the church can help reduce culpable/vincible ignorance but it can never remove innocent/invincible ignorance and this is where the lay people both in civil as well as in the church have a permanent role to play so that invincible/innocent ignorance does not remain as an excuse from the hierarchy for the systematic coverup of pedophiles. Even if victims are unintended bad consequences of clerical decisions, the lay people must remove the bad consequences regardless, this is catechism 101 : Do good, avoid evil.

John Jay report, how perpetrators condition kids using psychologically tactics (ex: Pavlov’s dog theory) I made a miscalculation in the podcast…sorry, here is the correct one: 0.26% of 798 priests in toronto = 2 pedophile priests (not 3) So statistically speaking, within the span of 50 years you will have 2 priests that are pedophiles having been transfered to different parishes within the diocese whenever they are rightfully suspected of their crime, but never get jail time although are guilty. If we don’t include these 2, there will also be a 3rd pedophile that gets jail time.

Internal vs External Forum - Making distinctions between the two help us understand that not living up to the sacramental signs of matrimony that are meant to reflect the love of Christ for his Church, does not necessarily mean that a rupture with friendship with God (mortal sin) has occurred. Also, if I may add, matrimony between one man and one women as a visible sign of our faith in the Trinity as another example of the external forum giving witness to our faith in the Triune God, if unable to be witnessed may not necessarily mean the mentioned couple is in a state of mortal sin. This distinction between the Internal & External forum is necessary to understand the distribution of priest from one parish to another after they are accused of pedophilia, regardless of if they are guilty or not.

Coverup of Pedophiles' Invincible Ignorance

Understanding what 'invincible ignorance' is and how it relates to the Catholic Church's pastoral approach to pedophilia, will help the laity finally understand what goes on in the minds of these Bishops that cover-up the objectively grave sins of their priests when moving them to new parishes where the public does not know of their pedophilia actions. It is precisely because of the 'invincible ignorance' of the pedophile if in not knowing that he commits objectively grave sin when he has sex with your child, produces the circumstance for a Bishop to maintain that since the pedophile's subjective culpability is diminished if not entirely removed by 'invincible ignorance, it can be concluded that the subjective culpability of the Bishop that coverups up the objectively grave sin of the pedophile, is diminished if not entirely removed. This arrises from a pastoral approach that ignores to inform those entrusted to their care, certain nuances or difference between subjective culpability of a sin and the objective culpability of a sin, so that it arrises that one can teach those entrusted to their care, albeit in an equivocal/ambiguous way, that a sin is not a sin, and what's not a sin is a sin. So here we have my interpretation of what Pope Francis means to say when he says, that it is because of lack of catechesis that this coverup of pedophilia continues. But what is not considered is that although the Bishops may not be culpable for the pedophile priests' evil actions, the Bishops are still responsible according to the Principle of Double-Effect, that is, by their power and authority to take action that will reduce the bad consequences. The Bishops have a duty to try to mitigate the bad consequences as much as they can so that it can be said that the bad consequence of their pastoral approach were unintentional, that is, so that it cannot be said that the bad consequences caused the good consequences.
